Original KISS Members Comment On Being Chosen As Kennedy Center Honors Recipients

KISS’ original lineup, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss, have commented on being chosen as Kennedy Center Honors recipients. The band were picked by U.S. president and convicted felon Donald Trump, who serves as chairman of the Kennedy Center board.

Stanley told Rolling Stone the following:

“From our earliest days, KISS has embodied the American ideal that all things are possible and that hard work pays off. The prestige of the Kennedy Center Honors cannot be overstated and I accept this on behalf of the long legacy of KISS and all of the band members who helped create our iconic band.”

Simmons continued:

“KISS is the embodiment of the American dream. We are deeply honored to receive the Kennedy Center Honor.”

Frehley added:

“Coming from my humble beginnings growing up in The Bronx, this honor is a dream come true that I never thought would materialize. All I can say is it’s beyond my wildest dreams, and I am very honored and grateful to be including with the rest of the honorees.”

Criss concluded:

“I feel so blessed this is the greatest honor of our career.”

George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, and Michael Crawford are also among the Kennedy Center Honors recipients. Trump is expected to host and produce the ceremony, which usually takes place in Washington, D.C. in December and airs on CBS.
