Voivod are considering the possibility of recording their upcoming show with the Orchestre Symphonique De Québec for a new live album. That concert will take place at the Grand Théâtre de Québec in Quebec City, QC on June 4.
Michel “Away” Langevin told Le Soleil the following:
“The problem with making a record is that you have to pay a lot of royalties, because there are a lot of musicians and it costs a fortune. However, we’re working on recording the Quebec City show and eventually releasing it on vinyl or CD. We really want to do that.”
He also ruled out a DVD release:
“A DVD costs much, much more, so we forgot about that idea and focused on the audio. We haven’t yet decided to turn this performance into a live album, but we’re working very hard on this major project.”
