To The Grave have officially welcomed drummer Raymond Martin to the band. With this news, the group have also shared a new song titled “Sawed Off”:
The group said the following about recruiting Martin:
“We’re stoked to have Raymond officially on board as a member of To The Grave. He jumped in to do the Faces of Death European tour with us last year, and we knew we had to keep him. We’ve known him for years, so we knew he’s a great drummer, but he’s such a good fit with everyone and already a super hard-working member of the band.”
Vocalist Dane Evans also commented on the single:
“‘Sawed Off‘ was one of the first songs we ever wrote for the whole cycle. Knowing we wanted a more mosh-forward approach to a few songs, we came up with this one, and it went through very few changes to get to this point in all honesty.
The song itself is about the government trying to neuter the voices of activists in Australia with ag-gag laws and swaying public perception against them. It’s paired with a message that this shouldn’t deter activists and whistleblowers from speaking up and getting angry, it’s assumed that this will help fight that negative perception and do more good for animals when that’s exactly what these industries want us to think.
The video to us represents the many aspects of what the band truly holds dear. Animals, activists, our friends, family and fans were all included and made this video what it was. Thank you for being involved! Killshot motherfucker.”
