Slaughter To Prevail’s Alex Terrible has taken to Instagram to share some words on his homeland of Russia. The vocalist, who previously condemned the country’s invasion of Ukraine, says he is still proud of his Russian heritage.

Alex said the following [translated from Russian]:

“Someone took a photo and edited it in Mexico! Damn, that’s so cool. I’m so happy for us. And I’m so pleased when they bring our flag to us, when I go out on stage with it.

I’m a man of the world. I believe that everyone who was born on this earth is a citizen of the world. But everyone has their own country, their own culture, their own history. Everyone has a good story and a bad one, and no matter what it is, it must be respected. People are not perfect, but what I do, namely, play music all over the world in my native language, I fucking love it.

And I don’t do it to earn some kind of respect from my compatriots, like look what a patriot I am. I’m not a patriot! I don’t need that kind of opinion! I do this because I’m Russian and I’m proud to be Russian. Wherever I am. I want to live where I want. I want to travel, I fucking like America. But Russia is my home, my beloved home. With its history, with its people, with its wounds and victories. I am with you, Russia. Forever.”
