Kittie have revealed that they are planning to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Spit” this year. According to frontwoman Morgan Lander, the band “have a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipe” related to the album.

Kittie commented yesterday (January 11):
“Today marks the 25th anniversary of the official release of ‘Spit’. What a huge milestone. We had no idea of the impact the album would have on us and others, and as soon as it was released our young lives were forever changed.
Please let us know what the album means to you, and how it has impacted you. What is it about Spit that has crossed generations and continues to inspire?
There’s a few exciting things we have coming up this year in relation to that so stay tuned!”
Lander also added the following in an accompanying video:
“Hey, everybody, Morgan here. I just wanted to hop on here real quick to talk a little bit about ‘Spit.’
Today is the 25th anniversary of the official release of our very first album, ‘Spit.’ And January 11th, 2000 was a day that we didn’t really think would have such an impact on our lives. Yet here we are 25 years later, still talking about ‘Spit,” still reflecting on it, still thinking about it, and still listening.
Uh, so for us, today is a day of reflection. The last 25 years have been a wild ride. Let us know what you think.
Why are you still listening to ‘Spit’? Why has it been so impactful? Why has it been an album that continues to inspire generation after generation?
Let us know. We have a lot of cool stuff coming down the pipe this year in regards to ‘Spit,’ so stay tuned. Thanks.”
