During an interview with Nik Nocturnal, Suicide Silence’s Chris Garza confirmed that the band have started writing material for their next album. The guitarist also revealed that he has been taking inspiration from newer artists.

Garza said the following:
“I am in Southern California so it’s like, I could… I’m lucky. I’m just going to all these shows. I’m seeing deathcore bands, new metalcore bands. I didn’t know who Alpha Wolf was until they they played a small venue down the street, I was like ‘okay, I’ll check it out.’
When you’re consistently putting new shit into your mind – could be music, could be books, learning – something happens to to your fucking brain where it forces you to be open-minded, and that causes a new form of being creative.
So now we started writing our new record two weeks ago, and I don’t know man. I’m playing different. It’s weird, I don’t know. I’m just like ‘oh, I wouldn’t normally do that.’
So it’s like, the self-titled backlash, being broke for a long time, plus also being inspired, plus the new bands really pushing me without them knowing. I don’t know. I can’t put my finger it. Something is happening.”
