As previously reported, the September 27 date of the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, KY was cancelled due to weather. As a result, many bands were unable to perform, including Slayer, who were set to play their second of three reunion shows. Despite the unfortunate situation, it appears ticketholders will have another a chance to see the band during their set at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA.

Louder Than Life issued the following statement:

“Missed Slayer at Louder Than Life? We’re heartbroken too. But we’ve got something special for all Friday and 4-Day Louder Than Life pass holders: an exclusive chance to see Slayer at Aftershock in Sacramento on Oct 10! Check your email for details on how to RSVP!

Please note that this isn’t the only thing we’re working on for you, to make up for Friday’s cancelation at Louder Than Life. Accepting this offer will not disqualify you from additional compensation. Stay tuned for more information later this week. Thank you for your continued patience and support!”

A separate statement was also emailed to ticketholders:

“Loudmouths – we know how disappointing it was to miss Slayer‘s performance at Louder Than Life, and we share your heartbreak. We spent five years working to bring that reunion to life, and not being able to deliver that moment was devastating for us too.

However, we always strive to do right by you, the fans. That’s why we’re excited to offer **ALL Louder Than Life pass holders affected by Friday’s cancellation** an exclusive opportunity to see Slayer at Aftershock in Sacramento, CA on Thursday, October 10.

We know it’s coming up quickly, and we understand that traveling may not be possible for everyone. But for those of you who can make the trip, we want to make sure you have the chance to witness this legendary performance.
