Krosis have premiered a new video for their new song “Terraform.” This track is from the band’s new EP “Infinite Circuity,“ which will be released on October 4.
The group commented:
“The first single, ‘Terraform,’ is one of the most spirited songs we’ve written as a group. It’s hard-hitting and showcases a full range of elements that embody the Krosis sound. We felt like the aggression and atmosphere for this song was perfect as a leading single because it hints at the core concept of the EP, while showcasing an array of elements that bring out the most intense moments of the project. The music video aims to showcase this high level of energy and intensity by highlighting the chaotic nature of the music in its fast pacing and dynamic performances.
As the band evolved over the years we’ve aimed to improve and refine our identity. We’re excited to welcome Mitchell Martin as the newest frontman and full-time member. We initially met years ago when everyone was separated amongst older projects, but only recently reconnected once the news of our latest opening spread. Mitchell has so much control and range that compliments everything we do musically. He also has such an innate sense for what we aim for and a deep understanding of how to structure a verse perfectly. He’s been such a natural fit for this project and we’re fortunate to have him on board.
Experimentation was necessary in order to push further as writers, eventually bringing new ideas and possibilities to life. We began breaking down phrases until we were left with the main rhythmic concepts and extended them to every song. At times there are moments that come off as dense or chaotic and we leaned into this idea, both musically and lyrically. The concept for the EP focuses on the addiction to technology and reforming the physical world to fit the next era of life. To be a little more specific, technology never slows down, but only evolves due to our constant consumption of information. With no regard to the impact those actions make, we steadily devolve as a species.
We pride ourselves in giving every song a unique identity. Though we are aware of the qualities and tendencies identified within our music, nothing should ever feel the same when you listen to us. We feel this approach has naturally separated us over the years, making it difficult to place our sound into a box. This process continues to differentiate us from the field due to our consistency with this rule. In all honesty, there is a natural change taking place in our sound and we’re embracing these changes as we continue to evolve. This project is the culmination of that exploration and growth so far, connecting our roots with the constantly changing tones of our music.
We’ve spent a good amount of time experimenting with all the ways we can bring out certain moods and emotions in our material. There’s a heavy emphasis on atmosphere, rhythm, and tonal intention in this project that maximizes how each riff interacts with the other. What stands out the most when you’re listening is the way we’ve come to interpret these elements and the potential these moments will have in the future development of our sound. We’ve captured a lot of details that would otherwise be difficult to execute without some sacrifices from a production standpoint. The fact that those qualities translated in the way we intended is something we’re incredibly proud of and hope to expand upon further on our future releases.”
