A number Spotify accounts belonging to various metal artists have been getting swarmed by fake A.I. tracks. The issue is pretty significant considering the uploads could potentially steal streams and income from the victims. Among those affected were The Ghost Inside, Currents, Fit For A King, The Devil Wears Prada, Born Of Osiris, Like Moths To Flames, Bury Tomorrow, Imminence, Silent Planet, Caliban, etc. According to Idioteq, the fake tracks were part of “a broader, coordinated effort by individuals using AI to create and distribute instrumental music that mimics well-known metalcore bands.” The publication went on to say that the uploads are being distributed by Vibratech Musicians, who appear to be trying to siphon money away from artists.
