As previously reported, Jack Black recently decided to put Tenacious D on hiatus due to an onstage joke that Kyle Gass made about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. However, during a new interview with Variety, Black confirmed that the band will return at some point.

Black said the following while at the premiere for his new movie “Borderlands”:
“We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime. And we’ll be back.”
He continued when asked if he is still in contact with Gass:
“Yeah, we’re friends. That hasn’t changed. These things take time sometimes… And we’ll be back when it feels right.”
Black went on to reveal that he was wearing the “Pick Of Destiny” from the band’s 2006 comedy film:
“Look what I wore today: I wore the Pick of Destiny. I love Tenacious D. It’s probably my favorite job, if you can call it that. It’s a work of art, it’s my baby.”
