Conquer Divide have parted ways with Janel Duarte. The bassist/vocalist says she is leaving the group “to focus on personal musical endeavors.”

The band commented:

“Conquer Fam,

Today, we have some news to share with you, and while these things are never easy, change is inevitable, and we believe in transparency with you guys. After ten years, Janel has decided to step back from Conquer Divide.

Janel’s decision to focus on personal endeavors is something we fully support and respect. It’s not easy to be a touring musician, and as people grow and evolve, so do their aspirations and priorities. Janel has been our friend for a decade and we’ll always have each other’s backs. Who knows, maybe our musical paths will cross again one day.

We’re going to keep creating music, making silly videos and connecting with each of you at our live shows. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes, writing new music and preparing for our upcoming European and US tours.

Your support means everything to us. Thank you for being part of this wild ride. We will announce our new touring vocalist tomorrow! (P.S. She’s amazing!)

Duarte added:

“After 10 years with Conquer Divide, I’ve made some of the best memories I will never forget. Touring with the girls taught me so much and I will cherish every amazing experience we shared together.

I’ve decided to step back from my position in Conquer Divide to focus on personal musical endeavors. I will not be with them on their run with The Warning due to having to move at the same time but I do plan to support the girls on future tours for the remainder of the year. So Europe, y’all better come out and show them some love!

Yes, it’s the end of a chapter but also a start to a new one. Thank you to everyone who came out and saw me play with Conquer Divide. Whether it was in 2015 or last year, your endless support and love has meant the world to me and I appreciate every hug, picture and encounter I had with you all. This is not goodbye.”
