Dream Theater are planning to begin the writing process for their new album this month. The effort will be the band’s first since reuniting with drummer Mike Portnoy.
Guitarist John Petrucci told Guitar World the following:
“Well, very soon. So, we start the new album in less than two weeks. And we’re looking forward to it. It’s really exciting to have Portnoy back in the band. We started the band together.”
He later added:
“We haven’t started working on new music. We haven’t written a note yet, but I’m sure when we get together, it’s just gonna be like old times. So, I’m really looking forward to doing that and diving in.”
