Yesterday (May 4), I attended Lacuna Coil, The Birthday Massacre, Blind Channel, and Edge Of Paradise’s show at The Ritz in San Jose, CA and it was an incredible night!
The show kicked off with a set from Edge Of Paradise. The band put on a stellar performance that captured the hearts of those in attendence with a dynamic display of cinematic metal. It was a perfect start to a rockin’ evening.
After Edge Of Paradise, Blind Channel took the stage for a killer performance. The nu metal group were one of the strongest acts of the night and really knew how to have a good time. Their catchy music mixed with their infectious energy made for a fun and memorable performance that you couldn’t help but move to.
Once Blind Channel wrapped up, it was time for The Birthday Massacre. The gothic new wave rock act were firing on all cylinders as they put on an enthusiastic performance that matched the happiness of the crowd. The band genuinely seemed like they were having a great time, especially singer Sara “Chibi” Taylor, who couldn’t help but smile and make heart hands with fans throughout the whole set.
As soon as The Birthday Massacre were done, Lacuna Coil blasted onto the stage for an epic headlining set. The gothic metal masters were on the top of their game as they powered through an arena worthy performance in a small club. The flawless musicianship and Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro’s commanding vocals had the crowd going crazy and only further cemented the band’s decades long status as a top-tier live act.
