Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Airstrike

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Airstrike.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

AIRSTRIKE: Maybe a little more 😉 The band was founded in 2014 and began touring after a few months. After many rehearsals, concerts and line-up changes, in 2017 the band released the first AIRSTRIKE demo (DEMO), made by Dariusz Witkowski at Studio Megawatt. In September 2017, Airstrike began a cooperation with a new drummer (Kornel Kłos) and at the end of the year with a new bassist (Maciej Subzda). With the current line-up, we have already played almost 30 concerts. We had the opportunity to play concerts with, among others: Nocny Kochanek, KAT & Roman Kostrzewski, Turbo, NeuOberschlesien, Non Iron. During the pandemic, work and recordings for the debut long-play started. The process of recording subsequent tracks, mixing and mastering lasted from July 2020 to August 2022. So the first Airstrike album is ready and you’ll find 11 tracks on it. Soon it will be available as a physical release on CD and on the Internet on Spotify, Tidal, YouTube and many more popular streaming platforms. Four fans of heavy sounds, creating songs with strong riffs, spiced with original texts. Each of them has been playing for many years, listening to various sub-genres of rock and metal, which influenced the current sound of the band.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

AIRSTRIKE: Metallica, Motörhead, Annihilator, Judas Priest, Exodus, Slayer, Suicidal Angels.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

AIRSTRIKE: The latest release is our debut LP entitled “Power in Your Hand” and is the old school, hi-speed & heavy riffs power package for metalheads with heart!

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

AIRSTRIKE: They can expect to get what you would usually get while standing too close to a wall of speakers while a metal song unfolds the main riff – a blast!

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

AIRSTRIKE: On tour and in a studio recording the next album!
