Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Virtue In Vain

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Virtue In Vain.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

VIRTUE IN VAIN: Our band is called Virtue In Vain. We are a Progressive Metalcore band based in Cardiff but our members are divided between South Wales and London. We have played a number of shows around the UK and we pride ourselves on putting on a live performances you won’t forget.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

VIRTUE IN VAIN: Make Them Suffer, The Devil Wears Prada, Architects, Napoleon, For the Fallen Dreams, Crystal Lake & Currents. Plus many other bands we have played with over the many years.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

VIRTUE IN VAIN: Our latest single is called “The Whispers Of Sleep.” We feel that is a reflection of what the band I going for musically and the type of stories we like to tell.

The meaning behind the song came about from a nightmare a member of the band had. At one point he wasn’t sure if he was awake or sleeping and even when he woke he wasn’t sure what was real and not. This song is built upon that feeling at that moment. The song also incorporates how our dreams/nightmares are created from our subconscious and how it makes moments from our past, be it places or people, feel so real.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

VIRTUE IN VAIN: Energetic stage show that will keep you guessing what will come next. We give everything we have into our stage shows and leave it all on stage, even if that leaves us exhausted afterwards.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

VIRTUE IN VAIN: Our next EP, couple more singles maybe an album and enough shows to meet everyone we possibly can.
