Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Dark Rain

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Dark Rain.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

DARK RAIN: Bill: Group of friends that love to play music together.

Kelleigh: Just a group of 5 friends doing what we love. Always a great time…

Dudley: Dual guitar rock and metal with soaring and melancholy vocals with tight rhythm.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

DARK RAIN: Brian: My main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Overkill, Savatage, Testament

Bill: Metallica, AC/DC, Bad Company, Eagels, ZZ Top. believe it or not, some country and rap. lol. I listen to it all.

Dudley: Guns N’ Roses, Eagles, Ozzy, Def Leppard, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, SRV, 60s Motown, Alice in Chains, Heart, Pat Benetar, The Higwaymen.

Chip: My personal influence is 70s, 80s, 90s rock and metal.

Kelleigh: I try to stay true to us…but Joan Jett.. Pat Benetar .Lita Ford..just strong women in rock.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

DARK RAIN: Brian: Our new forthcoming album has some really kick ass songs on it just waiting for the public to listen.

Bill: Should be releasing it this fall. awesome tunes will make you want more.

Chip: People will love this new album something for everyone on it.

Kelleigh: newest album is still getting final mastering touches and we’re just true to us..its the album of horrible breakups… hopeless feelings and just trying to survive and making it through..

Dudley: “The Illusion Fades” its about letting go of the illusion of what you thought you wanted and embracing the life you were meant for, some of the album deals with very harsh bitter breakups, betrayal, and some is very hopeful and of possibilities.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

DARK RAIN: Brian: They should expect to come and hear some awesome music, performed as only we can and to share in the musical energy that our performances generate.

Chip: They should expect us to be rocking out.

Kelleigh: More original music than covers (although we do covers) maybe a bit of banter between friends on and off the stage.

Dudley: Five people who will give you their all to put on a good show no matter what.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

DARK RAIN: Brian: Continuing to write new music and touring any where that we can.

Kelleigh: I CAN’T/ WON’T SPECULATE.. I hope we’re still jammin and playing out.

Bill: Hopefully still together and still writing and jamming. love my band.

Chip: Hard to say.

Dudley: Hopefully touring and wider exposure and fan base.
