Warrant Issued For Marilyn Manson On Assault Charges In New Hampshire

The Gilford Police Department in New Hampshire have issued an arrest warrant for Marilyn Manson. According to TMZ, the singer is wanted in the state for two counts of misdemeanor simple assault after allegedly spitting on a videographer during an August 18, 2019 performance at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion.

The Gilford Police Department issued the following statement on Facebook:

“The Gilford Police Department has an active arrest warrant for Brian Hugh Warner (aka: Marilyn Manson) for two counts of Class A misdemeanor Simple Assault stemming from a 2019 incident at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. The alleged assaults involved a videographer. Mr. Warner, his agent and legal counsel have been aware of the warrant for some time and no effort has been made by him to return to New Hampshire to answer the pending charges.

• Mr. Warner had been performing a concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion on August 18, 2019, when the alleged simple assaults occurred.

• The issuance of an arrest warrant is not a presumption of guilt.

• The videographer had been subcontracted by a NH based company to video the concert, and had been located in the stage pit area when the alleged assaults occurred.

• A Class A misdemeanor in NH can carry a possible jail sentence of less than one year and a fine of $2,000.00 or less.

• The alleged assaults are not sexual in nature as has been asked by several other media outlets due to a number of other allegations made against Mr. Warner.”

Manson’s attorney Howard King has since issued a statement to People denying the allegations:

“It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera. This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply. This whole claim is ludicrous, but we remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout.”

Despite King’s statement, witnesses have said the spitting was intentional. One of them said the following:

“He was spitting everywhere and one time it got on her camera so she wiped it off and looked semi-irritated. He noticed this and kept purposely spitting on her camera. I think her final straw is he got on the floor, got within 2-3 feet of her and hacked a giant snot rocket at her not the camera. She was pissed off and disgusted so she stormed off and he just laughed. I stopped listening to his music after that and told my husband I would never go to another one of his concerts again.”

This news comes after multiple abuse allegations were also leveled against Manson. Those accusations were initially spurred by actress Evan Rachel Wood, who said that the musician “horrifically abused [her] for years.” Since then at least 15 women have come forward with allegations against the singer, including actress Esmé Bianco, who filed a lawsuit after accusing him of abuse and human trafficking, actress Bianca Allaine, who described him as the “most terrifying person [she has] ever met in [her] life,” actress/model Ashley Morgan Smithline, who was sexually assaulted and abused multiple times, and his former assistant Ashley Walters, who filed a lawsuit against him for sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, etc.

Wood has since shared more details regarding her time with Manson as well, including his alleged use of anti-Semitic and racial slurs. She has also claimed that his current wife Lindsay Usich and another woman named Leslee Lane threatened to release underage photos of her to destroy her career.

After all of this news broke, the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department confirmed that they were investigating Manson. Allaine also mentioned that she was planning to speak to the FBI.

Since Wood made her initial statement, Manson has been dropped by his manager Tony Ciulla, his label Loma Vista Recordings, his talent agency CAA, and a couple of TV shows. Others that worked with Manson have also come forward, including his former assistant Dan Cleary, who said he witnessed the musician abusing Usich.

Two of his other exes, Rose McGowan and Dita Von Teese, have both commented as well. Von Teese’s statement was the most recent and she said that the “details made public do not match [her] personal experience” with the singer, while also adding that “abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship.”

A number of other musicians have also issued statements including Ellie Roswell (Wolf Alice), who said she once caught Manson “filming up [her] skirt with a GoPro,” Phoebe Bridgers, who said Manson previously “referred to a room in his house as the ‘r*pe room’,” Otep, who said Usich would call her house “hysterical because he was on another drug binge, threatening her life,” Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), who said that he has “been vocal over the years about [his] dislike of Manson as a person,” and Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit), who said that “every single thing that people have said about him is fucking true.” Actor Corey Feldman also claimed that Manson put “spies” into his life as part of a “decades long mental and emotional abuse” campaign.

For his part, Manson claimed that the accusations “are horrible distortions of reality.”
