Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “Music In The Age Of COVID-19” series, the feature where I discuss the ongoing pandemic with various musicians. This time I have an interview with Sonic Circus.
METAL ANARCHY: How have you been holding up during the coronavirus pandemic?
SONIC CIRCUS: Been very lucky actually, been able to work the day job from home, and more time to work on Sonic Circus stuff such as the videos we’ve been releasing.
METAL ANARCHY: Have you been using your downtime to work on new music?
SONIC CIRCUS: More so the videos, we’ve done four now all during the “COVID age” but yes we have also recorded some new music!
METAL ANARCHY: What was the last show you played or attended before the shutdown?
SONIC CIRCUS: Here in Australia we are opened up again mostly and I saw the mighty SHIHAD three weeks ago. First gig I’ve been to in 12 months and it was amazing!
METAL ANARCHY: Are you planning to play any livestream concerts during this time?
SONIC CIRCUS: Not at this stage no.
METAL ANARCHY: Do you think the live entertainment industry will ever recover?
SONIC CIRCUS: I think it’s going to be an extremely difficult time over the next 12 months, however hopefully when this is over people will realize how important live music and entertainment in general is, and will be out supporting it.
METAL ANARCHY: Lastly, is there anything fans can do to help your band or others that may be struggling during this time?
SONIC CIRCUS: Yes! We have just launched a Pozible Campaign for people who want to purchase our album on Vinyl or CD.
