Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “Music In The Age Of COVID-19” series, the feature where I discuss the ongoing pandemic with various musicians. This time I have an interview with Freedivers.
METAL ANARCHY: How have you been holding up during the coronavirus pandemic?
FREEDIVERS: We had many plans that could not be carried out, but we decided to take advantage of the situation and we dedicated ourselves to working in the studio, we began to work on some ideas that we had left forgotten and now we are finishing the recording for a new EP.
METAL ANARCHY: Have you been using your downtime to work on new music?
FREEDIVERS: Yes, we have used this time to work on some songs that we had yet to finish and a new EP will come out soon.
METAL ANARCHY: What was the last show you played or attended before the shutdown?
FREEDIVERS: I went to see a friend who was doing a concert with his band in a small club in the center of Barcelona.
METAL ANARCHY: Are you planning to play any livestream concerts during this time?
FREEDIVERS: No, we really haven’t thought about it. We prefer to wait for everything to pass and do it the old way.
METAL ANARCHY: Do you think the live entertainment industry will ever recover?
FREEDIVERS: Oh yes, for sure. All this will happen and live concerts will return. Fortunately, we have great scientific advances and humanity has a great capacity for recovery. Remember, we went to the moon.
METAL ANARCHY: Lastly, is there anything fans can do to help your band or others that may be struggling during this time?
FREEDIVERS: Certainly these are difficult times for music and musicians. If any fan feels the need to help us, they can visit our official website and buy our music or merchandise.
