Metal Anarchy’s Music In The Age Of COVID-19 Series: Interview With Tarah Who?

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “Music In The Age Of COVID-19” series, the feature where I discuss the ongoing pandemic with various musicians. This time I have an interview with Tarah G. Carpenter and Coralie Hervé of Tarah Who?.

METAL ANARCHY: How have you been holding up during the coronavirus pandemic?

TARAH WHO?: CH : It begins to be pretty long hahaha. It was great to be able to practice and work on some new music but it’s really hard to not be able to play shows.

TGC: Yeah I agree. I was busy writing the new album and making the demos. Everything is recorded now and ready to go. There is always work to do to prepare for a release so I am not saying I am not busy, but I do miss playing Live shows.

METAL ANARCHY: Have you been using your downtime to work on new music?

TARAH WHO?: CH : Yes we actually did!!! We recorded a new album that will come out in April!!

TGC: Yes, we recorded a new album and now we are getting ready to release singles and music videos. Stay tuned! Our first single ‘Swallow that Pill’ comes out on the 22nd of January.

METAL ANARCHY: What was the last show you played or attended before the shutdown?

TARAH WHO?: TGC: We actually did have one show in October 2020 in Oklahoma, for a motorcycle event. It was outside and out there in the country. The last show before the shutdown was somewhere in LA. we were getting ready to go on tour and play for the first time in Vancouver, CA! What a bummer.

METAL ANARCHY: Are you planning to play any livestream concerts during this time?

TARAH WHO?: TGC: We might, but it hasn’t been a priority at the moment. Just want to make sure we have everything set up for the album first.

METAL ANARCHY: Do you think the live entertainment industry will ever recover?

TARAH WHO?: CH: I really hope so!! It might be hard to go back at it, but it will be fine, everybody needs it.

TGC: People are creative. It is going to be hard, but we are already coming up with ways to do shows, whether it is a drive-thru or livestream. It doesn’t make up for it, but I am sure that we are going to figure this out sooner rather than later. 🙂

METAL ANARCHY: Lastly, is there anything fans can do to help your band or others that may be struggling during this time?

TARAH WHO?: CH : Thank you very much for your support!! We have some merch on our website and you can find our music everywhere.

TGC: Yeah! Actually, that is super nice to think about that. Thank you! Yeah, we have been selling merch on our website: We made a Covid-19 version of our tour t-shirt and it has been really successful! Like Coralie said, any music or video sharing or buying is a huge help as well 🙂
