Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Five Crumbs.
METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
FIVE CRUMBS: We are Five Crumbs, an alternative rock band from Greifswald, Germany. We released 2 EPs (“Fall Awake”, “Prisoners”) and one single called “Monster” so far and our new single “Gravity” is out now. We like to mix different genres in our songs and don’t shy away from experimenting with unusual sounds outside of the genre.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
FIVE CRUMBS: Our main influences are bands like Papa Roach, Linkin Park and Shinedown, but we listen to all kinds of music (also a lot of metal bands like Gojira, Lamb of God and Trivium for example), which makes it even more interesting when we come together as a band and collect ideas for the songwriting process.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
FIVE CRUMBS: Our new single “Gravity” is out now. It’s a very melodic song with some kickass riffs played in Drop A tuning. The breakdown section is really heavy and you will find yourself headbanging to it for sure. Our fully animated and hand-drawn video for this one is really exciting and you should definitely check it out.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
FIVE CRUMBS: There is a lot of energy going on. It’s a transfer of energy from us to the crowd and back. We hope that we can play normal live shows again when the current situation has normalized again.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
FIVE CRUMBS: It would be a dream come true if we could play the big stages here in Germany like at Rock am Ring for example. But we’d also like to visit other countries and rock out with our fans there as well.
