The 62nd annual Grammy Awards is currently being held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA tonight (January 26) and the winners have already been revealed in the rock/metal categories. They include the following:
Best Metal Performance: Tool – “7empest“
Best Rock Performance: Gary Clark Jr. – “This Land”
Best Rock Song: Gary Clark Jr. – “This Land“
Best Rock Album: Cage The Elephant – “Social Cues“
The late Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, etc.) also won an award in the Best Recording Package category for his posthumous career retrospective.
