Back in October 2019, a Guns N’ Roses superfan, named Rick Dunsford, was banned from the group’s shows for life after allegedly leaking unreleased music online. Now, according to TMZ, Universal Music Group (UMG) has apparently threatened to hit the fan with a lawsuit. The label is accusing Dunsford of leaking 97 tracks online after purchasing them from a storage unit auction. UMG sent a cease-and-desist letter to Dunsford, claiming that he violated a settlement agreement in which he was paid $15,000 to return the recordings. The tracks were originally found in a storage shed belonging to the band’s former A&R rep Tom Zutaut and they were given to Dunsford after him and some other fans teamed up to purchase them for $15,000. They have since leaked online, but Dunsford is claiming that he had nothing to do with it.
