Skillet Planning To Release New Single In May

During a recent interview with Backstage Entertainment John Cooper confirmed that Skillet are planning to release a new song in May. The track will serve as the first single from the band’s new album, which is set to be released this summer.

Cooper said the following:

“Just listened to mixes today as we speak. Got a few more… nitpicking, I guess, with the mixes. But they’re almost done. The record will be done any day now [and] released this summer. We have a single coming in May, and I hope it’s good. [Laughs]”

He continued:

“Sometimes, when you work on a record for a long time, you do get kind of, like, ‘Okay, I thought this was good a year ago, and I hope it’s still good.’ But it’s unnerving, especially when you wait for three years. The longer you wait, the more epic it has to be — like waiting for a sequel.

“I’m very excited about the record. Me and Korey produced the bulk of it this time, which is the first SKILLET record we’ve produced the bulk of in a long, long time. So that’s pretty exciting for us.”

This news comes after the band recently performed two new songs live.
