All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert died back in October 2018 after drowning in a pond near his home in Stafford Springs, CT. Police have been investigating his death ever since, treating it as suspicious. Now, during an appearance on “Rover’s Morning Glory,” Phil Labonte was asked about his bandmate’s death and his opinions on his widow Beth, who the frontman says is a “garbage human being.”

Labonte said the following when asked about Herbert’s passing:
“I think when it comes to the circumstances surrounding Oli‘s death, that the best thing for me to say is there’s not a lot I could say, because there is an investigation.”
He also added the following when asked what kind of guy Herbert was:
“He was never into drugs. He loved playing guitar. Our drummer is the big drinker in the band. Our drummer used to be like ‘Oli, do shots’ and Oli would be like ‘shots are for adolescents.’ [laughs] He would have mixed drinks or whatever, he liked good beers, but he wasn’t into the drinking and stuff. He would have some drinks, but I don’t ever recall Oli… in twenty years, I’ve seen him hung over two times. He just wasn’t into it. It wasn’t his deal. He loved playing guitar.”
Labonte later continued:
“Oli Herbert did not do the types of drugs that you would associate with an overdose, period.” He continued on to say that in the 21- 22 years they knew each other, he “never saw him [Oli] do the type of drugs that you would associate with, you know, somebody who overdoses…”
Labonte went on to call Beth an “absolute garbage human being” after being read a line from a Facebook post she made. He later discussed the band’s relationship with her:
“Beth was never allowed to be around… to be on tour. She would come to the local shows because, you know, we couldn’t stop her… Everyone else in the band’s wives, girlfriends, whatever—they would come out on tour, stay for a few days, stay for a week, everybody got along.”
He also added the following when asked why she couldn’t go on tour:
“We [the band] made the decision, and she wasn’t allowed because she was a garbage human being. [laughs].”
He continued after being asked why Oli Herbert stayed married to her:
“We tried to convince him to get a divorce for a long time. I can’t tell you exactly why he wouldn’t do it or what the circumstances were surrounding his resistance. I don’t know. But I can say that I personally talked to him and said multiple times, look if you need a place to stay, I got plenty of room…”
When asked if he had an opinion on Herbert‘s death and Beth’s possible involvement, Labonte said:
“I do have an opinion on it, but I am not going to say. There is an ongoing investigation happening by the Connecticut state police.”
This news comes after it was recently revealed that Herbert signed a will making Beth the sole executor and benefactor just one week before his death
Beth previously said the guitarist died from drowning and that anti-depressants and a sleep aid were found in his system. However, the medical examiner’s office said the manner of death is still “undetermined.”
Fans and friends have long thought his death was suspicious and have been sharing evidence on a Justice For Oli Herbert Facebook page.
