According to Billboard, Metallica‘s 1991 self-titled album, aka “The Black Album,” has spent 500 weeks on the Billboard 200, making it only one of four albums to do so. The other three include: Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of the Moon” (937 weeks), Bob Marley And The Wailers’ “Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley And The Wailers” (539 weeks) and Journey’s “Greatest Hits” (539 weeks). As for “The Black Album,“ it is currently at #137 on the chart and it has sold 16.83 million copies in the U.S. alone. It was certified 16 times platinum on December 13, 2012.
