Shinedown have premiered their Bill Yukich directed video for “Get Up.” The song is an uplifting track that “speaks to the human spirit in a time of need” and it was created to help people with their personal struggles. Frontman Brent Smith wrote the song after seeing his friend, bassist Eric Bass, suffer with depression. Smith was able to relate due to the fact that he has battled his own demons in the past. He said the following: “We don’t want people to feel ashamed about what they’re going through. …You’re not going to be defined by your failures. You’re going to be defined by the fact that you didn’t give up.” The singer used to try to battle his issues with drinking. “Attention Attention” was actually the first album he wrote while sober.
