Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Crypitus

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to up and coming bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Doug Friend, Peter Snee, Joe Minard, and Zach Patch from Crypitus.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

Pete: We’re Crypitus. I play guitar. Doug and I used to jam to his songs and decided we needed a drummer. We found Zach on Facebook and it worked out.

Joe: I joined after a friend introduced me when they were looking for a bassist.

Zach: When I joined, Doug and Pete were already playing together. I was desperately searching the internet for musicians to jam with, and Pete was the first to respond, with Doug in tow. The rest is history.

Doug: Crypitus started with me Pete and Zach playing some songs that I wrote years back, rehashed them. We finally found a solid bassist and we spend our time performing through New England, New York, Pennsylvania Virginia and recently Canada.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

Pete: Animals as Leaders, Black Dahlia Murder, Death, Between the Buried and Me

Joe: Metallica and Primus.

Zach: BTBAM, Frank Zappa and Sithu Aye.

Doug: Dissection, Death, Death Angel Voivod

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

Pete: We have a single out called Danger. It’s a high energy song that builds to an awesome solo and climactic breakdown section. It’s a lot of fun

Joe: Our latest single is called Danger. It’s a song with some cool drums and solos.

Zach: Our newest single is Danger, and it will rock your socks around clock.

Doug: Danger is a song about all the perils we face, the goal is the promote awareness because if you are more aware of whats going on around you, you maybe able to help save the planet, and human race.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

Pete: Lots of headbanging, audience interaction, high energy

Joe: Head banging, cool music and a fun time.

Zach: Clown noses, sweat puddles and face melting drums.

Doug: Thrashy riffs, moshing, and an original twist on metal!

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

Pete: If we haven’t conquered the world by then we’ll be well on our way.

Joe: World domination.

Doug: Maybe we will play across seas some days, that’d be a dream come true.

One response to “Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Crypitus

  1. Kat and I love these guys. They are one of the hardest working local bands we know at this time. Doug, Pete, and Zach are what metal music is about. A good fucking time. We enjoy seeing them live and can’t wait for the ep to circulate. We wish nothing but the best for these THRASHING friends of ours. SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC EVERY CHANCE YOU GET.
