While accepting the Icon Award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards in London, England, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan confirmed that new music will be coming in 2019. He said the following:
“I wouldn’t be here without you guys, so thank you very much for all that. A lot of work’s being done, a lot of work’s been done. I’ll go on record now saying you’re gonna see some new music next year.”
He didn’t specifically mention Tool, but many have assumed that’s what he meant. So far, the group have finished tracking drums and have started tracking bass.
