Tom Petty has sadly passed away at the age of 66. The rock legend was found unconscious, unable to breath, and in full cardiac arrest at his Mailbu, CA home last night (October 1). EMTs rushed him to the hospital, but he was taken off life support after no brain activity was detected. Petty died today at 8:40 p.m. PT. R.I.P.
Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers manager Tony Dimitriades commented:
“On behalf of the Tom Petty family. We are devastated to announce the untimely death of of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty. He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.”
