Five Finger Death Punch will release their new album, Got Your Six, on August 28, and guitarist Zoltan Bathory discussed the effort with Billboard. In the interview Bathory said the album will contain “more faster and mid-tempo” type songs.
Here’s what he had to say:
“It’s a little bit more uptempo. There was a conscious effort that, ‘We don’t want to have too many slow songs,’ you know? We wanted a little bit of an uptempo record. It’s more faster and mid-tempo songs.”
“I think it’s coming from the live shows, yeah. When you’re playing live shows you feel the energy of the crowd. It’s the high-energy and midtempo songs that make the audience move and connect. You can drop your little ballads here and there, but we know what people like, and when we started everybody said, ‘Yeah, we need more of those [uptempo songs].’”
