Behemoth To Leave Russia After Expired Visa Incident

I wrote on here yesterday (May 21), that Behemoth had been detained in Russia, because of “wrong visas.” Today (May 22), Blabbermouth reported the band has been released and were asked to leave Russia.

Vocalist Adam “Nergal” Darski was interviewed by Znak.com about the ordeal. When asked about the conditions the band was under Nergal said the following:

“It was a very small room and the walls were smeared with feces. At night, we asked to be taken to the toilet but our request was denied for some reason. So we had to use plastic bottles instead.”

When asked about the allegations he said:

“We received the visas at the Russian consulate in Warsaw. When we asked how to fill out the paperwork, we were told that it was necessary to obtain a business visa. We did everything we were told. Now it turned out that it was necessary to get some kind of a ‘humanitarian’ visa, not a business one.”

Nergal also said they had a “nice judge,” because they only received a minimum punishment. The band had to pay 2,000 rubles (about $60) each and had to leave the country.
