Split Chain have cancelled their immediate live dates. The shows were scrapped following the death of guitarist Jake Reid’s father.
The group commented:
“To everyone who was planning on coming to our shows in Long Island, NY and New Brunswick, NJ we are unfortunately having to cancel these 2 shows. Jake’s dad, Brian, sadly passed away a few days ago. Currently Jake and his family are dealing with a lot and what comes with the passing of a family member and with timings not falling in line due to funeral preparations, these shows aren’t doable for us. We would appreciate you sending your love to Jake and his family in these real tough times.
Brian was a huge part of Jake’s musical life; being so supportive of his dream, driving him and his old band around for shows, and being such a present person in his friendship group whilst growing up in his local scene, we can only thank him for pushing Jake to where he is today as without him split chain wouldn’t be here.
