Six fans were hospitalized in serious conditions following Angine de Poitrine’s massive set at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in Montreal, QC . Four others were also treated by paramedics at the event. Spokesperson Benjamin Dansereau-Leclerc told The Montreal Gazette that “it’s not out of the ordinary” for injuries to occur at big events. However, there was “a few more (incidents) than normal.” Programming director Maurin Auxéméry added:
“Given the size of the crowd … things went extremely well. We probably haven’t seen a crowd as big as this since Stevie Wonder [in 2009]. It was really an incredible event. We had a plan to welcome a bigger crowd than usual.”
