As I Lay Dying are apparently planning to bring their “Shadows Are Security” 20th anniversary tour to Israel. The band will be taking the stage at Zappa in Tel Aviv on March 23. The concert is likely to be met with controversy due to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Frontman Tim Lambesis responded to one critic on a Facebook post regarding the show:
“Just to be clear, we are traveling across the world to perform with some of our friends in another great band for people that see past government control and want to unite over music.
If disagreeing with the government meant I could not perform music, then I would not be able to play music in my garage or my home studio. There wouldn’t be able to be any AILD music at all”
Notably this isn’t the band’s only divisive show. The group previously announced dates in Russia despite that country’s invasion of Ukraine.
Lambesis is also still dealing with backlash from other controversies. The frontman, who launched a new version of the band following a mass exodus in 2024, is facing abuse, infidelity, etc. allegations from his ex-wife Dany Ciara. The accusations are just the latest in a shady past that also included prison time for trying to hire a hitman to kill another one of his former wives back in 2013.
