Jeremy Wagner (Broken Hope, Etc.) Awarded Default Judgment In Lawsuit Against Photographer Ross Halfin

Jeremy Wagner (Broken Hope, etc.) has been awarded a default judgment in his lawsuit against music photographer Ross Halfin. The guitarist previously filed that complaint after Halfin allegedly tried to pass off four Lynyrd Skynyrd photos as his own. Wagner purchased those pictures for over $7,300 before discovering that three were taken by Barry Plummer and one was taken by another unidentified photographer. Wagner‘s legal team also claimed Halfin never even took photos of Lynyrd Skynyrd during the 1970s. In a new blog post, Wagner’s UK legal representative George Chin said he scored his legal victory after Halfin failed to attend various hearings. He also said the photographer “admitted through his attorney that all the facts of the case are true.” As such, he was found liable for consumer fraud. Wagner was offered “compensatory damages, punitive damages, attorney’s fees and costs totalling $61,241 (USD) or £47,108 (GBP).”
