Peter Micanovic (Final Gasp) is currently recovering after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a brain abscess. You can help him out by donating through GoFundMe.

Jake Murphy commented:
“On August 28th 2025 Peter entered the hospital to get looked at for headaches he had been having for almost 2 weeks. He was urgently rushed into surgery where they found an abscess on his brain from an infection, causing massive swelling. If he had waited any longer he would have died.
We love Peter more than anything and are so grateful for all the doctors that took him in and didn’t wait for a second. It’s going to be a long road to recovery and not being able to do normal things like work, and tour for a little while. We all know the life of a touring musician is hard enough already but this makes that even harder.
Peter is a huge part of the community in Boston, whether it be lending gear to bands to use at the Middle East, filling in for your band or working on your gear to get it the best it can be. Something like this can completely throw someone off course so if you can please help donate to get our man back on his feet, even sharing this will do wonders. Thank you all!
He also added the following via social media:
“Hey everyone,
On August 28th 2025 our brother/lead guitar player Peter Micanovic entered the hospital to get a CT scan of his brain. He had been having headaches for almost 2 weeks and knew something was wrong. When they looked at the scan they saw a mass in his brain which they originally thought was a tumor. Luckily that was not the case. He had an abscess in his brain causing massive swelling and they needed to do emergency brain surgery. If he had waited any longer to come in he would have been dead.
We’re so grateful for the doctors that took him in and didn’t waste a second of time to get this situation handled. It’s going to be a long road of recovery but he’s going to get there. We have a Go Fund Me page set up in our bio. If you think you can donate please do and even sharing this page will help spread the word. Medical bills are expensive and he’s going to be out of work for a little while so we just wanna do what we can.”
