Primus Turn Red Rocks Into “Brown Rocks” For “Brown Album” Tribute Set

During their July 9 set at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO, Primus decided to focus on material from 1997’s “Brown Album.” You can see fan-filmed footage of that below. Frontman Les Claypool told the crowd the following:

“We wanted to do something special for [drummer John Hoffman]‘s first Red Rocks gig — and we literally just came up with this this afternoon. And I think it’s an idea, and Hoffer‘s very excited about it. But you guys are either gonna love it or you’re gonna hate it. So in celebration of Hoffer‘s first time at Red Rocks, we’re going to play seven songs off the ‘Brown Album‘, back-to-back, right now. Hence turning this evening at Red Rocks into an evening with Primus at the Brown Rocks.”
