Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to artists that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have a Q&A with The Haptics.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:
THE HAPTICS: We’re the Haptics from Vancouver, BC. We formed in 2022 and play a mix of post-punk, post-rock, post-grunge noise. You know, we’re just you’re everyday good time rock band. Love to have fun and play live whenever possible.
METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?
THE HAPTICS: Between the four of us we have a real mix of influences. Jin loves dark wave these days. Mike listens to everything. Alexis is chasing some kind of country-garage sound, and for myself (Cam) I love punk of course, but also I am so down with vocal harmonies. Secret passion would be singing along to Hall & Oates.
METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?
THE HAPTICS: Ya, we’ve just released a few singles that we’re really proud of. ‘Vows’ was released Oct 1st, and ‘Biodome’ Dec 1st. We’ve got two more singles to drop early this year before the album releases sometime in early June. I think people should check us out because I think we’re really starting to develop our sound and I think it’s good, and infectious.
METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?
THE HAPTICS: We try and bring it for the shows. We all love to play live and we just try and enjoy the moment and have fun with it. We don’t take ourselves to seriously just have fun and try and get the people moving. I love it when people just let themselves go and move with the beat. Then I know we’re doing something right.
METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?
THE HAPTICS: I hope we’re touring on a huge world tour within the next five years! Bringing it for the people! Beyond the big tour dreams I hope we’ll have released a few more albums of music that we are proud of. And just continuing to be true to ourselves and each other.
