Cancellation Of 2025 Sick New World Festival Was Reportedly Related To Budgetary Constraints

Hits Daily Double have shared some more insight into the recent cancellation of next year’s Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, NV. It appears the event was ultimately scrapped due to budgetary constraints.

The festival reportedly suffered from the get go due to an excessive amount of artists being booked. Many were even cut after things got turned over to C3 Presents and Huston Powell. On top of that, booker Jeffrey Shuman, who oversees the event, also decided to leave Live Nation.

The massive lineup combined with giant guarantees, including $5 million cuts for Metallica and Linkin Park, made it a necessity to sell a majority of tickets early on. However, organizers were only able to fill slightly more than 1/3 of their capacity. This may have been related to a different looking lineup and ticket prices that ranged from $472 for general admission to $1873 for VIP.

Live Nation will now be giving all of the bands a percentage of their guarantee. The company commented:

“Despite our best efforts, we’ve encountered unforeseen circumstances that we are unable to overcome for next year’s show. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated SNW fans who had made plans to join us for another cultural celebration of hard rock, goth, alternative and heavy music. Please stay tuned for further and future information regarding Sick New World.”

Ticket refunds are expected within 30 days.
