Tomahawk’s Trevor Dunn Says Next Year’s Sick New World Festival Has Been Cancelled

UPDATE: The festival has now officially been cancelled.

Original Story:

It looks like next year’s Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, NV may have been cancelled. Organizers have yet to make an official announcement, but the news appears to have been leaked by Tomahawk’s Trevor Dunn.

Dunn told The Vinyl Guide the following in some since removed comments:

“I’m probably not supposed to talk about this, but it’s not happening. It’ll come out in the wash soon, but basically, the festival [‘Sick New World‘] is not happening. We had a whole tour, we had a two-week thing built around that, which we can’t do now because financially it doesn’t make any sense, so yeah, that’s not happening.”

When asked if the festival really isn’t moving forward, he responded by saying “I believe so.” He also added the following when asked if the decision isn’t final yet:

“No, I think they have. I erased it from my calendar, so I’m not going.”

Dunn’s comments follow recent rumors suggesting that the festival may be suffering from financial issues. However, these claims are still unconfirmed at the moment:
