Rage Against The Machine have officially released their “Democratic National Convention 2000″ live album on streaming services. The effort features an August 14, 2000 protest that the band held outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA during the Democratic National Convention. A new vinyl pressing of that performance will also be released as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday (November 29) event. Zack de la Rocha said the following during the set:
“Our democracy has been hijacked! Our electoral freedoms in this country are over so long as it’s controlled by corporations! We are not going to allow these streets to be taken over by the Democrats or the Republicans!”
