Foo Fighters have taken issue with the use of “My Hero” during a Glendale, AZ rally featuring Donald Trump and his latest endorser Robert F. Kennedy Jr. A representative for the band told Billboard that “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” They went on to say that “appropriate actions are being taken” and that any royalties generated from the song’s usage will be donated to the Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign. Despite the band’s protest, The Independent claim to have seen documents suggesting that the Trump campaign did receive proper license to use the song from Broadcast Music, Inc. A spokesperson also confirmed the report, saying they “have a license to play the song.”
