Disturbed’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel‘s “The Sound Of Silence” has officially gone 8x platinum in the U.S. The RIAA made the certification on August 21. The hit single originally appeared on the band’s 2015 album “Immortalized” and has since gone on to reach milestones in a number of different countries. This includes going diamond in Canada and Germany, 8x platinum in Australia, 4x platinum in New Zealand, 3x platinum in Ireland, 2x platinum in the UK, and platinum in the Netherlands and Italy.
