Metallica’s Merch Partner Files Lawsuit Against Bootleggers In St. Louis, MO

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Metallica’s merch partner, Merch Traffic has decided to file a trademark infringement lawsuit in St. Louis, MO. The move was made in an effort to stop people from selling unauthorized merch at the band’s upcoming shows in the city. Notably, the report also mentioned that similar suits were filed in New York, Texas, and New Jersey. The suit said the following:

“The infringing merchandise is of the same general appearance as plaintiff’s merchandise and is likely to cause confusion among prospective purchasers. Further, the infringing merchandise sold and to be sold by defendants is generally of inferior quality.”
