Marilyn Manson Hit With Fine And Sentenced To Community Service Over 2019 Spitting Case

Earlier today (September 17), Marilyn Manson appeared in court to face sentencing for a misdemeanor simple assault charge related to an August 18, 2019 incident in which he allegedly spit and blew snot on videographer Susan Fountain at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, NH. The frontman plead no contest and will be facing a $1,200 fine and 20 hours of community service.

WMUR shared a victim-impact statement:

“For me, I’m a professional person and I’ve been in this industry for 30 years. I’ve worked for a lot of companies, and in all the years I’ve worked with people, I’ve never been humiliated or treated like I was by this defendant. For him to spit on me and blow his nose on me was the most disgusting thing a human being has ever done. I understand this was not a big criminal charge to begin with, but I was hoping that the defendant would receive a sentence that would make him think twice before doing something like this again.”

Manson was initially hit with two charges, but the second charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal. The news of Manson’s sentencing comes after his attorney Kent Barker previously claimed that Fountain consented to possible contact with bodily fluids.
