DieHumane have parted ways with drummer Sal Abruscato. The split was amicable with the band having said that he will “always be a huge part of [their] existence as a musical entity.”

The group issued the following statement:
“It’s probably time to go ahead and address this as we’re starting to get asked about it:
Sal Abruscato is not currently in DieHumane anymore. Sal is a brother and friend and he drummed on our first album. He’ll always be a huge part of our existence as a musical entity.
Sal is on his own trip. He has his own life. This project was always based on “Fuck it! Let’s make some music. Why not?” Sal, in no way, needed us. That guy’s mark on metal speaks for itself.
I only wish you guys, the music fans, could actually know Sal as a person. He is genuinely a really, really good guy. Yeah, sure, he’s the “Rude and crude guy from Brooklyn who tells it like it is,” but he’s also the guy that always lights up like a Christmas tree when he speaks of his wife and daughters. He’s also one of the most naturally hilarious people on the planet. Nobody could stop laughing when Salsa was around. He’s also unbelievably smart. Make no mistake about that. We love that dude and always will,…..and when it comes to who drums for us moving forward, they’re always gonna be sitting in Sal’s chair.
The point of this is to make sure you guys know there is ZERO negative feelings when it comes to Sal. Josh and Greg are two of the biggest Type O fans on the planet and they recorded an album with Sal. That was a dream come true. I firmly believe that was a huge reason he did it. That’s who Sal Abruscato is.
This has nothing to do with any “cancel culture” bullshit he’s dealing with. DH thumbs our nose at that shit. Believe that. We don’t play that red vs blue pissing contest bullshit here. We love everybody who has no ill intent towards us.
Like many of you, we look forward to what he does next, if he continues with music. You know it’ll be good. He’s like James Cameron: Never bet against that guy. We still have one more recording to release with him on it in October, and it’s one of our best.
Thanks for listening and everybody show our boy Salsa some love in the comments.

The “cancel culture bullshit” the band mentioned appears to be related to comments Abruscato made about Life Of Agony singer Mina Caputo. He recently said the following about that:
“The end was imminent.
Nov 17, 2017 Knotfest Irvine CA was to be my last show with Life Of Agony. At the gate in Newark Airport I was starting to get fed up with the current atmosphere. Here is this person that is the front man/woman of a grp dresses like a female, wants to have sex with females yet uses the women’s restroom oddly enough and that’s what he did at the airport slowly creeped into the woman’s room.
We finally arrive the next day to the gig to find ourselves in the catering hall having lunch, there was a young girl working cleaning tables and just doing her job. Said person begins to oogle at the young girl making her uncomfortable, it was obvious. I was sitting there watching and I was getting angry. What would her father say knowing this person is sexualizing a very young girl possibly a minor.
At the time I was the father of 2 girls with one on the way. My third daughter was due born end of Nov and I had left 2 times that year for tour the same day while my wife was in the hospital with our other daughter receiving multiple surgeries. Having another kid was not the best news for the band as these people were beginning their mid life crisis and wanted to make less and stay out on the road more. I wanted to cherry pick and do the financially better shows for obvious reasons.
Mean time both sides conspired one side talked to other drummers while the other side wanted to get away. It wasn’t about the band or the music anymore but more about leading a movement that I just don’t care about. The other issue was that I was heavily involved with the writing process of “A Place Where there’s No Pain” basically wrote 80% of the music and brought in Matt B to produce and engineer. A specific band member had it out for me as this was a sore reminder of what happened on “Ugly” which if you read the song writing credits you’ll understand better. This person had it out for me and they saw the opportunity as I griped about the situation. Make me out to be a trans hater, tells said person, Said person tweets and tells press, turn all friends against me by spreading bullshit taking them on tour. And just liked that, Cancelled! That’s was it people like Sirius Radio, Magazines and promoters would not touch me because of this cancel culture mentality that it’s ok to ruin people due to their beliefs.
I support real homosexuals not men who dress like women so they can fuck women! To the few that stuck with me thank you but to those that jumped on that train 🖕this will be pinned for those that are curious about what really went down. I was a founding member of the Brooklyn Sound with not just ONE BUT TWO ICONIC ALBUMS FROM NY and in the end of a life of dedication and sacrifice I become erased from history and all I put into this shit business and group of scumbags. You know who you are thanks for the memories! Been holding this in too long. People need to know about this side of the story. Not one sided judgement.
Any journalists that want the story just pm me.”
