Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Slowkiss

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Slowkiss.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

SLOWKISS: Slowkiss combine the noisy darkness of shoegaze with “scream-in-your-face” punk rock and ethereal-sounding pop.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

SLOWKISS: I think we have innumerable but very subliminal references. Being part of the Alternative, not playing any defined style, gives us more freedom. At the end we have the influences of the soundtracks of our lives, from Latin music to all the alternative and heavy rock, punk or new wave from the 80s, 90s and 2000s but with a modern and fresh air.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

SLOWKISS: Our latest album is called “Patio 29” and it was released just before the pandemic in 2019. Our latest single is “Ballerina,” which has a very beautiful video clip featuring a dancer dancing in the deserted streets. We have a lot more wonderful video clips you can also check out. Now we are about to release our new LP “K.O.” recorded during the pandemic. It was a great challenge for us to record it and we are very excited for you to hear it soon.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

SLOWKISS: A super fast and energetic show with many emotional and rhythmic nuances, changes of mood, but above all a lot of power. We also really like to complement the show with nice visuals and lights.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

SLOWKISS: Touring around the world, each time connecting with more people and playing in the festivals that we always dream of. Also with a couple of more recording jobs! Thanks for the support!!!
