Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With A Brave Face

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with A Brave Face.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

A BRAVE FACE: We are A Brave Face, a Pop/Rock band from Albany NY. Are members are life long friends Richard Hardy and Jonathan Robinson. We formed in 2021 after being a side project to our Metalcore band, but during the pandemic lockdowns ABF became our main musical outlet when playing shows and even practices where obsolete.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

A BRAVE FACE: We draw a lot of influence from 80s and 90s Pop, the greats like Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Cindy Lauper. And anything 80s cock rock.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

A BRAVE FACE: We released our debut EP “Love, Passion, Hope, Escape” at the end of 2021 and have a Piano/ Vocal version coming out early this year. On the EP we explore topics such as Growing up, Having Kids, and dealing with personal issues that people deal with every day. Things like anxiety, depression, substance abuse, abusive relationships both in our own lives and what we see in our friends and families lives.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

A BRAVE FACE: We hope to be playing live shows by this summer, and our fans can expect to have a good time. Feel free to come up to us and say hi we are super personable and love conversing with people.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

A BRAVE FACE: Hopefully doing this full time and have a couple albums under our belts. However if we are still just having fun we’d be OK with that too.
