Metal Anarchy’s New Music Showcase: Exclusive Q&A With Anchor The Storm

Time for the next edition of Metal Anarchy’s “new music showcase,” the feature where I introduce you to bands that readers of this site may find interesting. This time I have an exclusive Q&A with Anchor The Storm.

METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band:

ANCHOR THE STORM: Anchor The Storm is a metal band based out of Orlando Florida. We began working together in 2020 right in the middle of quarantine. We’ve released four singles on all platforms and have a whole lot more music set to be released this next year. We venture from alternative, to jazz, to prog, to melodic metal.

METAL ANARCHY: Who are your main influences?

ANCHOR THE STORM: We range from classics like King’s X and Pantera to big acts in the 2000’s like Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones with a LOT of obscure bands like Extol and Moron Police sprinkled in for good measure.

METAL ANARCHY: What is your latest release and why should readers of this site check it out?

ANCHOR THE STORM: Our latest single “Unleashed” is available to listen on all streaming platforms. There’s a video on YouTube as well. You should check it out if you want to go for a musical ride. There’s catchy melodies, brutal riffs and two soaring solos. The video is a trip also.

METAL ANARCHY: What can people expect when they go to your live shows?

ANCHOR THE STORM: You can expect more raw aggression and musical freedom when we play live. We want to put on a show and make sure that everyone there remembers us but still feels comfortable coming up after the set and just having a nice chat with us. If we resonate with you, tell us! We want to know how we can keep giving you great things musically.

METAL ANARCHY: Where do you see your band heading in 5 years?

ANCHOR THE STORM: We will be a touring act with 15-16 singles under our belt with another single always on the horizon. That’s how we plan to work indefinitely. It’s our main goal to share our music with the world and we’ll continue to do so as long as there’s an ATS and people to listen.
